Alternut Drop-ins.
After numerous customer requests to design a drop-in barrel for the Remington Model 700 Shilen has done that and more by designing their NEW patent pending dual threaded Alternut System
that will bring the ease and flexibility of drop-in barrels to even MORE platforms.The dual thread system was designed to increase the barrel diameter and wall thickness at the chamber end while still using a lock nut.
To make things even easier for our customers these many configurations may use a Large Shank Savage lock nut. Alternut barrels come threaded and fully chambered to be installed into the action with no additional machining or modification needed.
The Alternut system is currently offered for:
• Remington 700, 600, Model 7, 721, 722 XP-100
(The Remington's listed above must use recoil lugs measuring between .180" to .250")
• Howa 1500
• Weatherby Vanguard
• Shilen DGR/DGV
• More to Come!
All Alternut contours can be used on any of the Alternut platforms.
Some contours are a closer match to factory contours and will require less stock work.

Shilen Alternut barrels will come polished for stainless and blued for chrome-moly.
Customer may pick the finish length of their choice with an additional charge for lengths longer then 26".
